Camera Pad B (Bravo) and the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse – Morning Sunrise over the Atlantic

There are two Camera Pad roads out at Cape Canaveral – Camera Pad A (Alpha) and B (Bravo) and both provide beach access and fishing to CCSFB (Cape Canaveral Space Force Base) and KSC (Kennedy Space Center) employees. These Camera Pad roads are usually open unless there is an upcoming launch where base security will close the access roads for 24 hours before launch.

Both Camera Pad roads were a favorite of mine for taking picture, checking the beach, photographing sunrises and capturing the beauty of the Cape in the early morning hours.

Below are some photos of the lighthouse looking West as I leave Camera Pad B (Bravo), the road that leads out to LC-46. The launch structure in the foreground is Launch Complex 21 and 22, home to launches of the Mace and Bull Goose. More on these launch complexes in a future post.

About the Author and Photographer: Alden Pitard has over 40 years experience working in the Aerospace Industry at Cape Canaveral, The Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and Boeing locations throughout the country. He has supported the Space Shuttle Program, International Space Station, 787 Dreamliner and most recently the Artemis Program. During his time at "The Cape" he photographed a majority of the Launch Sites at KSC and Cape Canaveral. As the Space Shuttle program was coming to a close in 2011, the author decided to bike to all the Launch Complexes he could and capture the Space Center and Cape Canaveral as it was - thus "Biking through Space Ruins".
