Cape Canaveral Lighthouse – Surrounded by Early Morning Fog

I always enjoyed those slightly cool Florida mornings in the late Fall where the temperatures dipped a little and a nice Fog surrounded all the trees and launch structures out at the Cape, including the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse.

As you enter the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station heading east, you then take a quick turn North and would be greeted by all the ground fog. I would then head East out to the Lighthouse and see if I could catch a few pictures of the Lighthouse surrounded by Fog.

This was one of those mornings, not a heavy fog, but always a treat wen approaching the lighthouse to see it enveloped by Fog.

I decided to take these photos in B&W.

Looking South West at the Lighthouse from Launch Complex 22.

Looking North from the parking lot of Hangar C. Now the site and storage of refurbished rockets and part of the Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum.

A little closer view of the Lighthouse and the newly constructed Lighthouse Keepers Quarters.

About the Author and Photographer: Alden Pitard has over 40 years experience working in the Aerospace Industry at Cape Canaveral, The Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and Boeing locations throughout the country. He has supported the Space Shuttle Program, International Space Station, 787 Dreamliner and most recently the Artemis Program. During his time at "The Cape" he photographed a majority of the Launch Sites at KSC and Cape Canaveral. As the Space Shuttle program was coming to a close in 2011, the author decided to bike to all the Launch Complexes he could and capture the Space Center and Cape Canaveral as it was - thus "Biking through Space Ruins".
