{"id":343,"date":"2023-03-06T11:01:26","date_gmt":"2023-03-06T16:01:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/caperockets.com\/?p=343"},"modified":"2023-03-06T11:04:46","modified_gmt":"2023-03-06T16:04:46","slug":"cape-canaveral-lighthouse-photo-of-the-day-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/caperockets.com\/?p=343","title":{"rendered":"Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Photo of the Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/caperockets.com\/?author=2\">&nbsp;ALDEN PITARD&nbsp;<\/a>&nbsp;POSTED ON&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/caperockets.com\/?p=313\"><time datetime=\"2023-03-02T10:08:44-05:00\">MARCH 6, 2023<\/time><\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;POSTED IN&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/caperockets.com\/?cat=1\">UNCATEGORIZED<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">I\u2019ll be posting at least one photograph a day of the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse or Cape Canaveral Launch Sites starting in March of 2023.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For over 20 years I have been stopping by and photographing the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse and Historic Launch Sites at Cape Canaveral.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Some basic facts about the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse:<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First constructed in 1848, a small brick lighthouse was located at the tip of Cape Canaveral. Itx` was replaced in 1868 with the current iron lighthouse and is located one mile inland on Cape Canaveral, Florida.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current coordinates are 28\u00b027\u203237.26\u2033N \u2013 80\u00b032\u203236.42\u2033W and it is currently active.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 1893 and 1894 it was moved one mile inland to avoid flooding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The tower height is 151 feet with 176 stairs and the optics from 1868 to 1993 were a 1st Order Fresnel Lens. The tower shape is a Conical tower with a balcony and lantern room.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Photo Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drive to work would take me through the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS) now the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at around sunrise every morning.
